Feather Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2/3 cup milk, as needed

Directions

  • 1 Sift the dry ingredients together.
  • 2 Add the egg, melted butter and enough milk to make a moist, stiff batter.
  • 3 Drop by heaping teaspoons into boiling liquid.
  • 4 Cover and cook for 18 minutes.
