Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 cup boiling hot milk
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  • 1 Beat eggs until very light.
  • 2 Beat in sugar, salt and vanilla.
  • 3 Beat in butter in milk.
  • 4 Sift flour and baking powder and beat quickly into mixture.
  • 5 Immediately pour into greased 9-inch pan.
  • 6 Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
