Cabbage Rolls in the Crock Pot

Time: 7 hrs 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) can sauerkraut
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup rice (I use minute rice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • 1 Remove leaves from cabbage (10 ).
  • 2 Place these in kettle with small amount of boiling water.
  • 3 Cover and steam for 5 minutes.
  • 4 Mix sausage, beef, salt, egg, rice, and onion together.
  • 5 Shape into 10-12 balls and roll each on in a cabbage leaf.
  • 6 Place into crock pot, pour on the sauerkraut, tomatoes and water.
  • 7 Sprinkle on salt.
  • 8 Cover and cook on low 7-8 hours.
  • 9 Can be baked in a casserole dish in the oven for 2 hours at 300.
