Cabbage Rolls in the Crock Pot
Time: 7 hrs 30 mins
Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage
- 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
- 1 (16 ounce) can sauerkraut
- 1 cup water
- 1 lb pork sausage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup rice (I use minute rice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
- 1 Remove leaves from cabbage (10 ).
- 2 Place these in kettle with small amount of boiling water.
- 3 Cover and steam for 5 minutes.
- 4 Mix sausage, beef, salt, egg, rice, and onion together.
- 5 Shape into 10-12 balls and roll each on in a cabbage leaf.
- 6 Place into crock pot, pour on the sauerkraut, tomatoes and water.
- 7 Sprinkle on salt.
- 8 Cover and cook on low 7-8 hours.
- 9 Can be baked in a casserole dish in the oven for 2 hours at 300.
