Baked Creamed Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Directions

  • 1 Shred cabbage and cook for 9 minutes in boiling water.
  • 2 Remove cabbage and drain well.
  • 3 Place in 1 1/2 quart buttered casserole.
  • 4 Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in flour and salt and cook until smooth.
  • 5 Add milk gradually, stirring until thick.
  • 6 Pour sauce over cabbage and sprinkle bread crumbs over top.
  • 7 Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until crumbs are brown.
