Sardine Pate Appetizers

Ingredients

  • 2 (3 3/4 ounce) cans sardines, in water, drained
  • 1/4 cup green onion, minced finely
  • 1/4 cup plain fat-free yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • 1/3 cup carrot, finely shredded
  • 30 pieces melba toast

Directions

  • 1 Place sardines in a bowl; mash with a fork.
  • 2 Add onions, yogurt, lemon juice, dill and horseradish to your taste (I use 1 tsp).
  • 3 Stir well.
  • 4 Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
  • 5 Spread 2 teaspoons over each melba toast; top with shredded carrots.
  • 6 Serve immediately.
