Aromatic Herbed Bread Filled With Prosciutto

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon fast rising yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 -4 ounces prosciutto, sliced very thin

Directions

  • 1 Place all the bread ingredients except prosciutto in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  • 2 Select dough cycle and start machine.
  • 3 At end of cycle take dough out and punch dough down and flatten; roll to a rectangle. place prosciutto over in a single layer then roll up as a jelly roll.
  • 4 Score top. Place loaves on greased cookie sheet. Cover; let rise until double, about 40 hour.
  • 5 Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • 6 Brush loaf with milk. Sprinkle with herbs. Bake until a hollow sound when tapped, about 25 minutes; cool on wire racks.
